Poetry Out Loud

The Western Colorado Writers' Forum will host a Poetry Out Loud workshop with complimentary multi-media toolkit for writers and high school teachers on Saturday, November 20, 10- 3 p.m.,800 Colorado, downtown Grand Junction. A project of Colorado Creative Industries, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the national Poetry Foundation, Poetry Out Loud encourages writers, teachers and students to learn about great poetry through performance, recitation, and competition. The Workshop, co-sponsored by Western Colorado Writers' Forum, includes hands-on strategies for writers and teachers to enrich their literary curricula, understand the national Poetry Out Loud competition, and to learn memorization and recitation techniques from award-winning poet, Aaron Abeyta.
