Writing Workshop with Kristin Carlson
Noon-2 p.m. Mesa County Library, G.J.
Friday, Nov. 19
Capture the stories of your life in crisp, powerful prose. Whether you hope to share a few key moments with your children or grandchildren or plan to write a full-length memoir, come prepared to jumpstart your creativity with a series of sensory memory exercises and writing practices. Bring a lined notebook, a handful of pens, your memories, and your imagination.
Kristin Carlson is a Glenwood Springs author of nonfiction, poetry and plays, currently working on The Barnkeeper’s Son, a “true life” WW II fiction based on the story of a 14- year-old boy recruited as a soldier in Estonia, caught between Stalin and Hitler’s armies. She is a professor of creative writing at Colorado Mountain College; her poetry and essays have been published widely, and her plays have been produced at several theatres, including Curious Theatre in Denver.
